Wanna see a portrait of Mark Raney? Here it goes...
Origin: Hail from Oregon City,
Oregon. Don't hold that against me. I said it's not my fault.
Secure Childhood: Lots
of camping, sports and a strong resemblance to Beaver Cleaver...only I had an
older sister instead of Wally. Her name is Debbie.
My Passion For Radio Developed Early:
I tape recorded the Moon Landing which is still lying around somewhere, and
I've played the business for over 31 years. My new favorite thing in radio is working with the talented John Frederick! He's a great guy and always, always wants to have fun. He is a cool family man and we are glad to have him as one of our KZEL brothers!
I'm Happily Married: You
know my wife Sandy, she's been on the air a million times, and Griffy's
our sweet little dog with a tongue like a paint brush. Sandy's the coolest...she helps me with everything. Without her, I'd always have a bad haircut and a wrinkled KZEL T-shirt on!
My Loves: I've been a long
time Portland Trailblazer fan, come on Portland! I also love our College Hill Home, my church, United Lutheran, puttering in my
yard, traveling, spending money, discovering the unusual and then commenting on it to anyone
who will listen, and Cookies. Pie is pretty cool too! Sorry Cake, you're
third on the list, but a close 3rd. Generally pastry of all kind is a friend to me.
Favorite Concert: Ringo's
All-star Band or the Rolling Stones. (Sandy saw the Beatles) or the last concert
I went to: Eric Idle at the Hult. Funny stuff. Jerry Seinfeld was pretty
bitchin' as well. Hell, Clapton was great and so was CSN. Carrot Top is
in there too, but I'd have to say Robert Plant...I absolutely loved Robert Plant and the Moody Blues...BOTH REALLY FANTASIC CONCERTS. I could have lived without the Quiet Riot concert. They're
a group of shits'.
We own a red VW bug. Darn thing has electrical problems and is so low the ground, Sandy has scraped nearly all the bumper paint off the thing. Later!!!!
